Traffic Infraction Deferral Program
Criteria to Participate in Program:
- No conviction for a moving violation in the past 12 months from the date of the new infraction.
- Have not participated in any pre-trial diversion or deferral program in any county within 12 months from the date of the new infraction.
- Not hold a commercial driver’s license (even if you were not driving a commercial vehicle at the time of the infraction).
- We do not offer deferrals on the following citations:
Speeding tickets issued in a work/construction zone
Failure to Yield to an Emergency Vehicle
Disregarding a Flagman or Police Officer Controlling Traffic
Tickets that are the result of a traffic accident
Speeding tickets for 27 mph or more over the posted limit
6 Month Program:
Speeding (1-15 mph)
Cost: $189.50
9 Month Program:
Speeding (16-25 mph)
Cost: $219.50
12 Month Program:
Speeding (26 mph)
Cost: $249.50
You must enter into the deferral program within sixty (60) days of receiving your ticket. Your deferral starts as soon as your signed deferral agreement is filed in the Prosecutor’s office. Infraction Deferral paperwork is mailed automatically to persons who qualify on speeding offenses only. If you feel you qualify and you have not received paperwork, your offense is not for speeding, or if you have any questions, please contact Julie Bedwell, Deferral Program Coordinator, at 765.653.9466 or pros.bedwell@airhop.com Office hours are Monday thru Friday, 8:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
